Wates Giving

The Brief.

In early 2016, ADAPPTIFY was commissioned to create the brand new website for Wates Giving, part of the Wates Family Enterprise Trust.

Working closely with Envis Design, who are the designers behind this project, our brief was to deliver a modern, impactful website that ‘worked well across all devices’.

With the design part being taken care of, our job was to convert that in to a completely bespoke WordPress theme.

The Solution.

Starting with a blank canvas, we developed this custom WordPress theme from the ground up, using the bare minimal amount of plugins and code.

With each page being completely different, we hand-crafted individual page templates based on the design specification.

One of the most complex areas was the awards section with it’s array of stories, leading through to individual pages. This is built in such a way where the client is able to reorder them depending on their requirements.

We made sure to focus on tablets/smartphones when developing the website, and it has been designed so it adapts well to these devices, making use of a mobile style navigation system throughout.

Keeping with the companies branding, we purchased a web font kit and the site makes use of various weights and styles of the Agenda font.

The Result.

The website was ‘signed off’ in early 2016 after the finishing touches were applied and final images added.

We have had very positive feedback from both the client and the general public on this website and it is one that we really enjoyed being part of.
